A Bonita Springs man has been arrested for the hit-and-run death of a pedestrian.
Greg Figueroa, 42, was arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 25, after the Florida Highway Patrol spent nearly two weeks investigating the fatal crash, according to a press release.
On Nov. 12, shortly after midnight, an adult pedestrian was hit by a Nissan Altima on US 41, and died at a hospital, troopers said.
The vehicle was left in a parking lot. It had significant damage to the front and windshield, and was impounded for forensic examination,, troopers said.
There might have been another vehicle involved in the crash, a Chevrolet Malibu, whose driver was identified and interviewed.
The investigation is ongoing.
Figueroa is in custody at the Lee County Jail.
Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles indicates there have been at least 317 pedestrian-related crashes in Lee County in 2025, and at least 11 of those have resulted in death.
The department also reports Lee County has had at least 2,947 hit-and-run crashes this year.
