A semitrailer veered off northbound Highway 101 and through a guardrail and became wedged in a drainage channel near Wendy Drive in Thousand Oaks Sept. 23.
The crash happened around 8:15 a.m. between Borchard Road and Wendy Drive and also involved a van and a car, according to initial reports from the California Highway Patrol.
Officer Ryan Ayers said no one was injured in the crash. Heavy-duty tow trucks were called out to assist with removing the semi from the ditch, he said.
The crash and the work to retrieve the tractor-trailer were expected to take several hours, Ayers said. Some lanes were likely to stay closed during that work.
Ayers said he believed Caltrans would also be summoned to the area to repair the guardrail, leaving the lane closed even longer.
