Rams reward stud defender with much-deserved $22.5M extension

The Los Angeles Rams made one of the most underrated moves of the offseason, signing linebacker Nate Landman to a one-year deal for the veteran minimum ($1.1 million), and he’s been an absolute stud.

In 10 games this year, the 27-year-old has recorded 91 tackles (four for a loss), four passes defensed, four forced fumbles (most in the NFL), three quarterback hits, two fumbles recovered and 1.5 sacks.

That performance is why the Rams rewarded Landman with a three-year, $22.5 million contract extension on Saturday that includes $15.6 million guaranteed.

Landman hasn’t just been a force with his play on the field; he’s also a captain, leading the defense and wearing the green dot for Chris Shula’s unit. His play has been a huge part of why Los Angeles has held teams to just 17.2 points per game, the second-fewest in the league in 2025.

Now, the Rams have Landman under contract for the next few years and continue to put together the building blocks of this young defense.
