Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is having one of the best seasons of his career, as he’s solidified himself as one of the top candidates for the league’s MVP award through 12 weeks.
In Sunday night’s beatdown of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Stafford completed 71.4% of his passes for 273 yards and three touchdowns. His first touchdown pass, a one-yard fade to Davante Adams, moved him up to third on the Rams’ all-time passing touchdown leaderboards, passing two-time Pro Bowler Marc Bulger, who spent eight seasons as the starter.
Stafford now has 125 passing touchdowns in his five seasons with the Rams, and it’s possible that he moves up to second in franchise history before the year’s over, as he needs just 18 touchdowns in the final six weeks of the season to pass Jim Everett.
Roman Gabriel has the franchise record with 154 passing touchdowns from 1962-72. Stafford won’t reach that mark this season, but if he returns for 2026 and remains healthy, he should get it done then. He’d then be the franchise leader in passing touchdowns for Los Angeles and Detroit, which is something that no quarterback currently does.
