What channel is the Kentucky Derby on today? See time, streaming

The “Fastest Two Minutes in Sports,” the 2026 Kentucky Derby, is set to take place Saturay, May 2, at Churchill Downs in Louisville where tens of thousands of horse-racing fans and those who just want to be part of the scene will gather.

If you’re not among those in Louisville, Kentucky, for the first leg of the Triple Crown, here’s how to watch at home.

What time is the Kentucky Derby?

Kentucky Derby post time is set for 6:57 p.m. Saturday, May 2 at Churchill Downs.

The other legs of the Triple Crown are the Preakness Stakes on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland, and the Belmont Stakes on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York.

What channel is the Derby on?

NBC and the USA Network will share coverage of the race. Coverage starts at 2:30 p.m.

Fubo and Peacock will offer streaming.

What is the Kentucky Derby?

The Kentucky Derby horse race has a storied history dating back to 1875.

To earn a spot in the starting gate, horses must take part in a series of designated races at tracks across the country and around the world, according to the Derby website.

The top 20 horses with the most points earn a spot in the starting gate on the first Saturday each May.
