HOLLAND — Holland is no stranger to great coffee.
There are several excellent shops to peruse downtown, from Lemonjello’s to The 205 Coffee Bar to Bowerman’s on Eighth, not to mention favorites in Saugatuck and Zeeland. Despite the recent loss of Good Earth Café in March and Mainstreet Beanery on April 30, there’s no shortage of spots to get a fresh, hot cup of coffee.
We asked locals to nominate their favorites and compiled a poll; and the results are in. According to voters, the very best coffee shop in Holland is KIN Coffee and Craft House, which earned 27.5% of the vote.
KIN, located at 1200 Ottawa Beach Road in Park Township, opened in 2021. In addition to hot coffee, lattes, cold brews and floats — as well as lemonade and root beer on tap — the shop carries a few handmade items.
In second place, Simpatico Coffee Joint earned 20.8% of the vote. Simpatico has two locations in Holland, one on the northside at 975 Butternut Drive and a southside location at 714 Michigan Ave.
The 205 Coffee Bar came in third place with 14.5% of the vote. The eatery opened in 2017 at 205 Columbia Ave. and changed hands in December 2023. 205 is known for coffee, sure, but it’s also known for delicious waffles, served daily until 1 p.m.
