Pellston senior volleyball player Breanna Willis was voted by readers as the Cheboyhgan Daily Tribune’s Athlete of the Week for Aug. 18-30.
Willis won this week’s poll by capturing 53.25 percent of the vote, which beat out Cheboygan football player David Chase, who was second with 38.39 percent.
The poll opened on Tuesday morning and closed at 11 p.m. on Thursday.
Here were this week’s candidates:
David Chase, Cheboygan Football – Recorded a team-high seven tackles and forced a fumble in a victory over Sault Ste. Marie.
Presley Chamberlain and Makaela Steiner, Cheboygan Volleyball – Chamberlain recorded her 1,000th career dig in a victory over Gaylord, while Steiner reached 2,000 career assists at the Pellston Invitational.
Ty Kolly, Inland Lakes Football – Threw four touchdown passes and rushed for one TD in a victory over Onaway.
Kerry-Ann Ming, Mackinaw City Volleyball – Tallied 13 kills and 14 digs in a tri-match at Cedarville.
Ella Lintz, Onaway Volleyball – Registered 26 kills, 21 digs and three aces at the Pellston Invitational.
Lee Chatfield, Burt Lake NMCA Boys Soccer – Scored five goals and added two assists in a win at Oscoda.
Breanna Willis, Pellston Volleyball – Finished with 53 assists, 32 digs, 11 kills and five aces at the Pellston Invitational.
