Two men were arrested by Monroe County deputies and Michigan State Police after reports of a home invasion in Raisinville Township.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Monroe County Central Dispatch received a call regarding a possible home invasion complaint on Saturday, Aug. 22, at 5:17 p.m. The complaint came from the 600 block of Ida Maybee Road.
Deputy John Bills arrived on the scene and found a vehicle pulled behind a home, where an active home invasion was taking place. Bills was able to take one subject into custody, but the other fled the scene on foot just as the police arrived.
Additional responding units arrived to establish a perimeter in the area. A Michigan State Police K-9 trooper conducted a K-9 track with his police service dog and found the other suspect hiding in a cornfield nearby. The suspects, a 34-year-old man from Belleville, and a 40-year-old man from Toledo, were taken into custody and lodged at the Monroe County Jail.
