These Cheboygan-area baseball players made the all-Ski Valley Conference team

ONAWAY – It was another solid season for the Inland Lakes Bulldogs on the baseball diamond.

Individually, plenty of players stood out for the Bulldogs, who finished second in the conference and captured a fourth consecutive district title in the postseason.

This year, the Bulldogs saw four players earn nods on the all-Ski Valley Conference first team. Among those were seniors Aidan Fenstermaker (catcher) and Logan McMullen (first baseman) as well as juniors Cash DePauw (pitcher) and Wyatt Hanel.

Joining those four on the Ski Valley’s first team was Onaway senior utility/catcher Luke Lovelace. Lovelace’s teammate, junior infielder Andrew Gulley, received a nod on the second team.

Other Cheboygan-area players securing Ski Valley honorable mention recognition were Inland Lakes’ James Layman, Onaway’s Zach Schmoldt, and Pellston’s Brett Bonter, Ethan Hickman and Sam O’Neil.

East Jordan senior pitcher and future Michigan State Spartan Korbyn Russell was recognized as the Ski Valley Conference’s baseball player of the year. Russell helped lift the Red Devils to an outright Ski Valley crown in their first season as a member of the conference.

Here’s a glance at the entire all-Ski Valley team.
