Livonia ― A severely decomposed body was found partially submerged in a creek Saturday in Livonia, and police are asking the public for any information that might assist the investigation.
The Livonia Police Department responded to a report of a body being found in a creek in the area of Hines Drive near Levan Road at 6:13 p.m., the department reported in a news release.

The deceased appeared to be an adult male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored jeans and black shoes, the department said. No approximate age or other identifying information was provided.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Livonia Police Department at 734-466-2340.
The location is less than two miles away from where a 75-year-old man went missing nearly two years ago. James Sanford of Westland left his residence in the 37000 block of Westwood Circle near Joy and Newburgh roads in early April 2024 and was never found.
Sanford, who reportedly had dementia, was last seen wearing blue sweat pants, a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt, black gym shoes and a blue “USA Baseball” ball cap.
