New Delta flights coming to Traverse City airport. See destinations

Travel lovers in northwest Michigan will soon see new flight options to New England from the Grand Traverse area.

The Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City will begin offering Delta Air Lines nonstop flights to Boston on May 21, the airport announced in a Feb. 12 social media post. The move will provide local communities broader options to travel to New England, and with connector flights, to Europe, the airport said.

“We are excited to welcome Delta’s expanded daily Boston service this summer,” said Kevin Klein, CEO of Cherry Capital Airport, in the statement. “This added frequency provides travelers with more opportunities to access Boston and the Northeast, and it enhances connectivity for those continuing to domestic and international destinations through Delta’s network. We’re grateful for Delta’s continued investment in our community.”

Cherry Capital Airport, Michigan’s third-busiest airport, currently offers nonstop flights to 20 U.S. cities with six airlines, per its website.

Is Cherry Capital Airport adding new flights?

Yes, Delta Air Lines will begin offering daily direct flights from Cherry Capital Airport to Boston later this spring, the airport announced in the Feb. 12 Facebook post.

“The expanded service reflects strong demand for travel between Northern Michigan and New England, while reinforcing TVC’s commitment to improving air service options for the region,” the airport said in the post.

Boston also serves as a popular hub for flights to Europe, providing a key link for international travel from northwest Michigan, per the statement.

When will the new flights begin?

The new Delta flights will be available from the Cherry Capital Airport starting May 21.

Located in Traverse City, Cherry Capital Airport is Michigan’s third-largest airport, serving communities in northwest Michigan.
