The 2025-26 Michigan basketball season is less than 40 days away, but it moved one step closer Thursday, Sept. 18, as the Big Ten released the 18-team conference’s full regular season schedule.
Yet to be announced are TV channels and tip times for each start — most of those should come closer to the season opener.
The two big games on the schedule for the Wolverines: Michigan will play Michigan State in East Lansing on Friday, Jan. 30 (in what will probably be a late-night tipoff) and will host MSU for U-M’s senior day in its final regular-season game, on Sunday, March 8.
U-M will host Ohio State at home on Friday, Jan. 23, before a rematch in Columbus just more than two weeks later, on Sunday, Feb. 8.
Previously, MSU was the only team U-M was guaranteed to face twice, but U-M coach Dusty May and OSU coach Jake Diebler agreed it would be good for the fanbases to get a home-and-home every season, and that matchup has been added to the protected rivalry list as part of the 20-game slate.
There are some new looks to this schedule, as well — such U-M’s first trip to the Pacific Northwest for Big Ten games, taking on Washington on Jan. 14 and Oregon on Jan. 17.

An interesting note: After their return from the West Coast, the Wolverines don’t leave the state from Jan. 18-Feb. 7. There are five games in that span, four of which are at home, with the other against the Spartans in East Lansing.
That comes at a price, however: The Wolverines have just two home games after their Valentine’s Day matchup with UCLA in Ann Arbor — with three league road games and a neutral-site matchup against Duke in Washington, D.C.
