Lions' Kevin Glover named to 2026 Michigan Sports Hall of Fame class

As the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame revealed its 2026 inductee class, Detroit Lions legendary offensive lineman Kevin Glover was among the names included in the “Professional Athlete” category.

Glover, an All-American offensive lineman at Maryland, was selected by the Detroit Lions at No. 35 overall in the 1985 NFL Draft and spent 13 of his 15 NFL seasons donning the Honolulu Blue and Silver.

As a Lion, Glover was instrumental to the success of Detroit’s offensive line in the late 1980s and 1990s. Glover was a three-time Pro Bowl center, helped engineer the franchise’s record-setting 1991 offense and paved the way for NFL Hall of Fame running back Barry Sanders’ historic 2,053-yard rushing season in 1997.

As a result of his sensational efforts with the Lions, Glover was included in Detroit’s 75th Season All-Time team in 2008 and their All-Time Team in 2019.

Joining Glover in the professional category is three-time WNBA champion, Women’s Basketball Hall of Famer, and Detroit Shock legend Swin Cash. The complete seven-member 2026 Michigan Sports Hall of Fame inductee class will be honored during the 2026 Induction Event on Thursday, Dec. 17, at the Sound Board Theater inside MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit, Mich. Tickets start at $25 and are available at mshof.org.
