Dunkin’ and Jimmy John’s should be ready to open by November on the west side of Tecumseh.
Tecumseh Development Services Coordinator Sonya Grubb confirmed the updated timeline to The Daily Telegram on July 7. The timeline was pushed back after winter weather delayed construction.
The project is now underway at 1301 W. Chicago Blvd. — a former Wendy’s — where plans call for a two-tenant restaurant building with drive-thru service at both ends.
The Tecumseh Planning Commission provided special land use and final site plan approval in November 2025. During that meeting, developer Mike Howard said the building’s existing drive-thru will be re-used for Dunkin and a second drive-thru will be added for Jimmy John’s.
Officials have described the property as a high-profile site that’s drawn multiple redevelopment proposals.
