Hillsdale Renaissance will host a free community block party Aug. 22 with food trucks, live entertainment and family activities in downtown Hillsdale.
The event will take place at Courthouse Square and Howell Street, with a portion of the latter closed to accommodate activities and vendors, beginning at 4 p.m. Participating food trucks include Dante’s Drinks, Zilantro’s Mexican, Mitten Smoke BBQ, Grill and Chill, and The Holy Hoof Ice Cream and Soda.
There’ll be live music, a goat petting zoo, bounce houses, line dancing, an art walk and a cash raffle from Hillsdale Rotary. Charlie Miggins, event coordinator for Hillsdale Renaissance, said the celebration is intended to bring more people downtown while showcasing the community.
“We’re introducing new (residents) and new (college) families to downtown,” Miggins said.
