After the tea party from hell, Jason De Puy was sent packing on Thursday night’s live elimination episode of “Big Brother.”
The former “RuPaul’s Drag Race” contestant was voted out after menacing his fellow houseguests with tricks straight out of the playbook of “Evel” Dick Donato, winner of “Big Brother 8” (and Seaon 19 winner Josh Martinez), banging on pots and pants with a wooden spoon to annoy everyone in the house.
Well, it worked. De Puy was sent packing after a unanimous 12-0 vote, even though Thursday’s episode spent its first 20 minutes showing conversations between houseguests that made it look like they might keep De Puy.
Yeah. Not happening.
De Puy had a chance to save himself in the VHS-tape themed BB Block Buster, but he lost in a photo finish to Mallory Aurichio. That left De Puy on the block alongside La Trice Verrett, but De Puy had burned almost every bridge in the house, after HOH Kamu Kirk called out his duplicitous gameplay at a tea party among the houseguests earlier in the week.
De Puy’s back was also against the wall the week prior, but he won the BB Block Buster and saved himself from eviction, which led to the ouster of Traverse City-bred pickleball coach Rome Seymour.
In his exit interview with host Julie Chen Moonves, De Puy said he was surprised he received no votes to stay.
“Not one vote. Not one!” he said.
He said he learned and grew from the “Big Brother” experience, and discovered he no longer has to live in his own little world, and he can expand his bubble.
“I’m excited to see where the bubble takes me,” he said.
“This has been amazing,” he said in his parting words. “Thank you for having me, thank you for putting up with me. I’m going to continue being messy and just own it.”
