PORT HURON — Here are the girls high school basketball results for Thursday, Jan. 22, in the Blue Water Area.
Armada 61, Almont 35
Valeria Ricossa scored 14 points for Armada (6-3). Her sister, Vivian, and Haylee Agee both added 13 points.
“Great win for us tonight,” Armada coach Joe McDevitt said. “We ramble on … we have North Branch and Imlay City (up next on the schedule). We will try to get one percent better tomorrow. That’s our thing — percent every day.”
The Tigers travel to North Branch at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
Rachael Johnson finished 10 points to guide Almont (2-8). Eva Rayl contributed nine points and Madi Derk had six.
“A rough second half doomed us tonight,” Almont coach Erik Johnson said. “We’ve shown signs of being a good, competitive team but just haven’t been able to put a full game together yet.”
The Raiders entertain Algonac at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
North Branch 40, Croswell-Lexington 26
Croswell-Lexington (6-4) visits Yale at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
Sandusky 56, Marlette 29
Caroline Reinke posted 15 points for Sandusky (10-1). Emma Merriman added 10 points while Maggy Keinath had eight. The Wolves welcome Brown City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
Marlette (3-6) hosts Akron-Fairgrove at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26.
Yale 45, Richmond 16
Sadie Dykstra totaled 13 points to lead Yale (10-1). Aubree Churchill contributed 12 points.
“We didn’t have one of our greatest shooting nights, give credit to Richmond and their defense” Yale coach Jason Leonard said. “We’ve been a pretty good team defensively all year and that showed again in this game … the girls battled for a good team road win.”
The Bulldogs host Cros-Lex at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
Audrina Nader finished with six points for Richmond (3-8). The Blue Devils welcome Imlay City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
St. Clair 39, Marine City 30 (Wednesday)
Gracie Pickelhaupt had eight points to guide St. Clair (7-2). Maliyah Smith, Anna Kehoe and Ella Groeneveld all added seven points. The Saints visit Roseville at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23.
Audrey Northrup scored 13 points for Marine City (4-6). Payton Cirillo followed with seven points. The Mariners head to Warren Fitzgerald at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23.
