The Adrian City Commission is once again searching for a new administrator following the resignation of Chad Baugh on April 24.
During a meeting May 18, officials approved an employment agreement for Utilities Director William Sadler to serve as interim/acting administrator while a replacement is sought. The agreement outlines responsibilities and compensation for Sadler during the transitional period, including a $500 weekly bonus on top of his regular salary.
Officials have emphasized the arrangement is temporary, and commissioners have retained Yeo & Yeo HR Advisory Solutions to aid in the search for a permanent hire. The city was able to utilize a placement guarantee clause in an existing contract with the firm, since Baugh’s departure occurred within a year of his hiring.
That means Yeo & Yeo will conduct a new search without charging the base recruitment fee, though the municipality will still be responsible for certain costs, such as marketing, travel and third party expenses, estimated at roughly $4,000.
A specific timeline for the search has yet to be announced, but officials indicated the process is underway.
