The Pinconning Area Emergency Food Pantry donated several different kinds of food to the Pinconning Boys & Girls Club on January 16.
“It made me feel like a part of our community, and I was very grateful to them for bringing it to hand out,” Club Director Davinna Jajo said.
Among the food donated was cereal, nuts, fruits and a vast variety of canned foods. After being donated, the food was distributed to the members’ families. According to staff, this occurs on a monthly basis.
“It felt really good to know that where I work is able to offer food to those who need it,” Grace Moseler, a youth development professional with the Club, said. “It’s just always nice to make sure families have food.”
The donated food will be helpful for many. According to the Bureau of Labor, the cost of living has increased dramatically with inflation. Between 2021 and 2023, food prices rose nearly 20%. The food pantry is thanked for their kindness by the many families that the food was given to.
