The Port Huron Chapter of National Association of Career Women (NACW) named Christina Gallina-Flood as 2023 Woman of the Year. This honor is awarded to a woman whose conduct exemplifies the highest standards, personally and professionally, while remaining active in her career. She is not complacent with her growth but continues her education and development in all facets of her life. She is recognized by her professional peers as having achieved success in her field through her efforts and perseverance. She continually goes out of her way to help and mentor others and demonstrates selfless contributions of kindness, time, and energy so that others may succeed.
Christina’s hard work is nothing short of remarkable. Armed with a master’s degree in Pastoral Christian Counseling and her recent achievement of a doctorate, she has displayed an unwavering commitment to personal growth and excellence. Balancing her roles as a devoted mother, loving wife, and the Founder and Executive Director of Healing Hearts Home, she has shown exemplary leadership, nurturing an organization that extends compassion and support to teenage girls and women who have suffered abuse. In addition to her many accomplishments, Dr. Gallina-Flood has left an indelible mark on numerous organizations, including her invaluable service to NACW, where she held a significant board position from 2020 to 2022. Her dedication extends beyond NACW, as she actively engages with several other organizations through Woman’s Life and the Blue Water Chamber, demonstrating her commitment to building a better community for all.
In addition to awarding the Woman of the Year, the NACW Port Huron Chapter also named the 2023-24 board at the annual meeting on September 13. Board members are President Tracy Willard, Vice President Bonnie DiNardo, Treasurer Cathy Mills, Secretary Lisa Shagena, Membership Co-Directors Wendy Manter and Cheryl Wojcickij, Program Co-Directors Karynn Carrell and Heather Bearden, Newsletter Director Denise Horvath, Digital and Publicity Toni Forstner, and National Representatives Denise Horvath and Tracy Willard. Past President Port Huron NACW, and Current President National NACW Samantha Jay.The NACW is an organization of professional women dedicated to creating a supportive, engaging environment for women to develop both personally and professionally. The NACW was established in 1979 in Lansing, Mich. and currently has two unique Michigan chapters in Lansing and Port Huron.
