Pole-sitter Louis Foster hits the wall hard on Lap 43 while trying to pass Marcus Ericsson during the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham.
Foster was having the best race of his season when he crashed out with the broadcast crew noting he was inches from making the move.
“Just super annoying, because we actually had a shot to win today,” Foster said outside IndyCar’s medical unit. “We got completely screwed by the yellow, and then drove our (expletive) off to get up to (second) for half a second until we were in the wall. And we had pace on everyone.”
In a caution-filled race, Foster has the hardest hit. He had earned the pole position for the second time in his career and first time this season.
Foster had two top-10 finishes in 2026, seventh places on the Indianapolis road course and at Detroit.
