For 81 years the Sparty statue on Michigan State University’s campus has stood as a monument of Spartan pride. Located at the intersection of Kalamazoo Street and Chestnut Road, the 10-foot tall statue of a Spartan warrior holding a helmet has been a landmark for student gatherings, football pregame celebrations and graduation photos.
