A nurse in Rochester is being recognized for the care, compassion and positivity she brings to her team and patients each day.
Kiara Aponte, a registered nurse in the Interventional Radiology Department at Rochester General Hospital, was named a regional winner in the American Nurses Association – New York (ANA-NY)’s Salute to Nurses program.
Nominated, beloved by coworker
Aponte was nominated by coworker Ashley Oakleaf, who described her as a trusted and compassionate presence in a high-pressure environment.
“Kiara is such an intelligent, kind soul who shows compassion for each of her patients and coworkers. Every day, she gives all that she has to make sure each patient is safe, comfortable, and well taken care of before, during and after procedures.”
In addition to her clinical work, Aponte is known among her colleagues for bringing positivity and energy to her team, helping maintain a supportive environment in a demanding field.
“I have worked with Kiara for over a year now, and I would trust her with my life if I was under her care,” Oakleaf wrote.
