PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Niko Moungkhoun

SCHOOL: Zeeland

GRADE: Junior

POSITION: Attack

NET WORTH: All-state third team. All-conference.

COACH’S VIEW: “Elite finisher, great vision and hard worker.” – Chris Scheldt

ALL-AREA TEAM

Griffin Dobb

SCHOOL: West Ottawa

GRADE: Senior

POSITION: Midfield

NET WORTH: All-conference first team. Will play at Hope College next year.

COACH’S VIEW: “Griffin is a great midfielder with size, speed, strength and athleticism. He had a 50 point season despite every team designing their defense around stopping him. Grif also played through pain and injury all season and still led our team in goals and assists. He can dodge or shoot with either hand and can run around or through just about anyone. His success is a direct result of his work ethic on and off the field. He lives in the weight room and puts in personal time at the field asking me constantly to open the field for him so he can get extra reps. He sets a great example for his teammates and younger players.” – Murle Greer

Carson Durham

SCHOOL: Zeeland

GRADE: Junior

POSITION: Long-stick midfield

NET WORTH: All-conference honorable mention.

COACH’S VIEW: “Non stop motor, threat in transition, shut down defender, great off the ground.” – Chris Scheldt

Teague Ferlaak

SCHOOL: Holland Christian

GRADE: Freshman

POSITION: Goalie

NET WORTH: All-conference. Tallied 234 saves (64%).

COACH’S VIEW: “You never know what you are going to get at the beginning of the season when you start a Freshman in goal. However, Teague came out and exceeded expectations both in goal but also leading the defensive core. It is comforting to know we are set in goal the next three seasons.” – Chip Ferlaak

Will Langejans

SCHOOL: Holland Christian

GRADE: Senior

POSITION: Midfield

NET WORTH: All-conference with 37 goals scored.

COACH’S VIEW: “A classic two-way middie who is many times the best athlete on the field and looks it. Several games just took over with this athleticism and drive. Has the ability to get his shot of with a great first step on his dodge.” – Chip Ferlaak

Noah Leak

SCHOOL: West Ottawa

GRADE: Freshman

POSITION: Midfield

NET WORTH: All-state honorable mention. Tallied 100 ground balls and 55% faceoffs won.

COACH’S VIEW: “Noah made it clear that he was a varsity caliber athlete from the first day of practice. His ability to win tough ground balls and clear to the offense was a highlight of the season. He is the hardest worker out there and has no concern for his personal safety. We watched teams throw everyone at him and he still came out with the ball. He also took the majority of our faceoffs this year and finished with a 55% win percentage as a freshman. He is dependable and will do whatever is asked of him for his team.” – Murle Greer

Ethan Morrow

SCHOOL: Holland Christian

GRADE: Senior

POSITION: Faceoff

NET WORTH: All-conference. Totaled 71.2% faceoff win percentage, 413 career faceoff wins.

COACH’S VIEW: “Ethan is a testament to hard work and focus. He showed why he was one of the top face off specialists in the state. In such a key position he was able to take over several games by not letting the other team get the ball to start a possession.” – Chip Ferlaak

Reed Overweg

SCHOOL: Zeeland

GRADE: Sophomore

POSITION: Attack

NET WORTH: All-state honorable mention.

COACH’S VIEW: “Great vision and tough on ground balls.” – Chris Scheldt

Conor Reidy

SCHOOL: West Ottawa

GRADE: Senior

POSITION: Defense

NET WORTH: Totaled 24 ground balls and 13 forced turnovers. All-conference honorable mention.

COACH’S VIEW: “Conor drew all of the best attackman in our conference and held them to season lows. He is a shut down 1-on-1 defender and extremely smart off ball as well. He started every game for us despite shoulder issues that nearly sidelined him this year. He is hard working, coachable and a leader.” – Murle Greer

Carson Riley

SCHOOL: Zeeland

GRADE: Sophomore

POSITION: Midfield

NET WORTH: Lead the team in ground balls.

COACH’S VIEW: “Two-way midfielder, good finisher, dodger, and takes faceoffs.” – Chris Scheldt

Henry Rosich

SCHOOL: Holland Christian

GRADE: Junior

POSITION: Defense

NET WORTH: All-conference honors.

COACH’S VIEW: “Henry is one of the hardest working players on our team. Really stepped this season taking on the other teams best player and still caused 32 turnovers. A natural leader set the tone daily by his example.” – Chip Ferklaak

Thomas TenBrink

SCHOOL: Holland Christian

GRADE: Junior

POSITION: Attack

NET WORTH: All-conference honorable mention with 37 goals.

COACH’S VIEW: “Thomas is a hard working attackman with a great shot with both hands. Grew into this new position and got better as the year went on.” – Chip Ferlaak
