A former Spartans big-man has reportedly worked out with the Golden State Warriors ahead of the upcoming NBA Draft.
Former Michigan State center Carson Cooper reportedly worked out with the Golden State Warriors on Thursday. Brett Siegel of Clutch Points reported the notable pre-draft workout for Cooper.
Cooper was a four-year player for the Spartans, becoming a starter by his senior season this past year. He started all 35 games for the Spartans, finishing the season averaging 11.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game. At 6-foot-11, Cooper certainly has potential to land on an NBA roster based on his year-to-year progression throughout his college career.
Cooper is looking to play his way onto an NBA roster through the pre-draft process. He was not invited to the NBA Combine so workouts like this one with the Warriors will go a long way towards Cooper getting any chance of being drafted or signed for a summer league spot.
The NBA Draft will be held on June 23 and 24. Undrafted players will typically sign with teams shortly after the draft so we should know where Cooper will be heading before the end of June.
