You could own a souvenir from Stephen Colbert’s two episodes on Monroe Community Media, Monroe’s public access cable television network.
After his final “The Late Show” aired on CBS May 21, Colbert made a surprise appearance the next night, when he guest-hosted for the second time on MCM’s “Only in Monroe” show. The episode aired at 11:35 p.m. Friday, May 22. Colbert also was on the Monroe show in July 2015.
In early afternoon on May 28, MCM posted a 1 ½-minute video on its Facebook page. In the video, Colbert announced items from his appearances in Monroe would be auctioned at Colbertinmonroe.com. The ebay bidding runs through Monday, June 1.
“I’ve had such a great time being back here in Monroe, Michigan, and while I was here, this is true, we discovered an original script from the first time I hosted the ‘Only in Monroe’ show 11 years ago, and I have decided to auction off this script with notes, which I will sign,” Colbert said in the video.
The video shows Colbert signing the script. The notes are handwritten on the back of the document.
The script had 55 bids at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 28.
Colbert said the auction also includes “other articles from my time here.”
Items include a script from the 2026 show, two broken set pieces and a MCM coffee mug. All the items are signed by Colbert.
All auction proceeds will benefit Monroe Community Media, Colbert said in the video.
“Bid on these great items and hopefully keep Monroe Community Media going for me to show up again in 11 years,” Colbert said.
