Senior Walmart executives depart amid reshuffling under new CEO

May 22 (Reuters) – Senior Walmart executives, including COO of warehouse chain Sam’s Club, Tom Ward, and head of store operations for the retailer’s U.S. business, Cedric Clark, are leaving, marking a major management reshuffle under CEO John Furner.

Ward will retire from his role by the end of the month, while Clark’s departure hadn’t been officially announced.

The news was first reported by the Wall Street Journal earlier on Friday.

The development follows a day after the retailer reiterated its conservative annual sales and profit targets.

Earlier this year, the company had announced a series of executive changes as new CEO John Furner took over in February, replacing Doug McMillon.
