There’s no shortage of grocery stores in Livingston County, from regional chains like Meijer and Kroger to bulk shopping options like Costco to local favorites like VG’s Grocery, Busch’s Fresh Food Market and Simply Fresh Market.
But, for many families, there’s only time for one major stop on the weekend. We asked our readers to share where they go for the most affordable one-stop shop in Livingston County — and there was a clear favorite.
With more than triple the votes of the second-place finisher, Meijer was voted the most affordable grocery store to get all your household needs in one trip. The store received 55.13% of the vote. There are three locations in Livingston County: 3383 E. Grand River Ave. in Howell; 2160 Hartland Road in Hartland; and 8650 W. Grand River Ave. in Brighton.
Walmart finished in second place with 16.67% of the vote. Walmart has two locations in Livingston County: 3850 E. Grand River Ave. in Howell and 970 Gehringer Drive in Fowlerville.
Kroger also received support in our poll, finishing third with 11.54% of the vote. There are four locations in Livingston County: 9968 E. Grand River Ave. in Brighton; 10059 E. Highland Road in Hartland; 108 W. Highland Road in Howell; and 9700 Chilson Commons Circle in Pinckney.
