Three top-10 golfers in the Official World Golf Ranking will play in the 2026 Rocket Classic in Detroit, organizers announced on Monday, May 4.
Cameron Young (No. 3), Russell Henley (No. 8) and two-time major champion Xander Schauffele (No. 10) will be in the field at the renovated Detroit Golf Club for the eighth playing of the tournament.
Additionally, 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley (No. 30) has also committed to the tournament, along with past Rocket Classic champions Rickie Fowler and Tony Finau.
“Announcing three top-10 players in our first wave is a strong signal that 2026 is shaping up to be the best field in tournament history,” said Rocket Classic tournament director Mark Hollis.
“After talking with players and their teams, it’s clear the world’s best want to play in Detroit. For fans, that means a chance to get up close to watch elite competition at the highest level. We’ll have more big names to announce in the coming weeks.”
Young, 28, will make his fourth start in Detroit. He finished tied for runner-up in 2022 five strokes behind Finau, T6 in 2024 and T46 in 2025.
Young on Sunday won the Cadillac Championship in Miami, and is third in the Tour’s season-long standings, the FedExCup. Scottie Scheffler, who was runner-up to Young in Miami, six strokes back, is No. 1 and Matt Fitzpatrick is No. 2. Young also won the Tour’s signature event, The Players Championship, in March, and finished tied for third at this year’s Masters.
Schauffele, 32, finally broke through with two major wins in 2024 at the PGA Championship and The Open. He will make his Detroit debut.
Henley, 37, is a five-time winner on Tour, his biggest coming in the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational. He finished T3 at The Masters. He has played the Rocket Classic twice and finished T10 in 2022.
South African big-hitter Aldrich Potgieter won last year’s Rocket Classic, his first PGA Tour victory at age-20 in a three-man playoff.
The tournament says it has invested $10 million into charitable organizations in Detroit since it first arrived in 2019.
