CONSTANTINE — The Constantine girls track and field team pulled off an impressive feat – an unblemished record.
The Falcons won a pair of conference dual matchups on Wednesday, April 29, putting the squad’s record at 8-0 and crowned them as Valley Division champions. The wins came over Kalamazoo Christian and Schoolcraft, both meets were scored as Constantine winning 90-47.
For the meet, Constantine took first place in nine events.
Jaedyn Herlein swept the hurdle events. She posted a time of 17.24 seconds to win the 100 and posted 49.62 to win the 300. She was also part of the 800 relay team, paired up with Kaitlyn Jones, Kailee Jones and Raeann Michalek to win with a time of 1:54.09.
Eliza VandenBerg won both the throwing events. She scored a distance of 32-11.5 feet in the shot put and 95-9 feet in the discus.
Morgan Niblock ran to first place in the mile, her time was 5:36.88. Winning the two-mile run was Anna Davidhizar, she coasted in with a time of 13:24.45.
Constantine won the distance relays as well.
In the mile, the team of Josie Schnepp, Kailee Jones, Niblock and Machalek came in with a time of 4:33.23. The two-mile relay was won by Schnepp, Niblock, Kailee Jones and Ashlynn Michalek at 11:08.74.
In the 400 run, Kaitlyn Jones finished second at 1:07.13, Raeann Michalek came in third with a time of 1:07.48. Allison Burns ran to second place overall in the 800 at 2:55.03, Ashlynn Michalek was third at 2:55.35.
Burns ran to second in the mile at 6:05.94, Davidhizar claimed third at 6:14.12. Paytin Featherstone ran a time of 14:19.58 in the two mile, Abigail Robinson posted 15:07.61 for third.
Taylor Herlein finished second in the shot put at 30-8.5, Presleigh Casselman was third at 30-0. Raylynn Kjergaard was second in the discus at 76-9, Taylor Herlein finished third at 72-3.
Andrea Avila placed second in the pole vault, clearing 8-0. Robinson was third at 7-6. Allona Cullifer registered third in the high jump at 7-6. In the long jump, Raeann Michalek was second at 13-6.5.
The Constantine boys took care of business as well. The Falcons registered wins over Schoolcraft 76-62 and Kalamazoo Christian, 84-53.
The Falcons flew to first place in three relay events. In the 800 relay, the team of Riddikk Terry, Ryder Schoetzow, Ryan Manes and Cael Smith ran to first at 1:37.55. The mile relay saw Aaron Hochstetler, Manes, Aaron Hofmeister and Bear Geibe run a time of 3:42.59. In the two-mile relay, Constantine’s team of Alessandro Avila, Hofmeister, Luke Platz and Geibe ran 8:48.32 to win.
Cooper McGee leaped to the long jump win. His distance was 18-3.5 feet. Smith was second at 17-9.
Chase Manes logged first place in the shot put at 45-1 feet. Smith won the 200 run at 24.33 seconds.
Hochstetler placed second in the pole vault, clearing 11-6. Manes finished third for the discus at 111-5.
Avila won the two-mile run at 10:39.15. He finished second as well in the mile run at 4:42.90.
Hofmeister’s time in the 800 was 2:09.49, this was good for second overall. Geibe finished third at 2:11.45.
