Champs Windsor, Notre Dame each put 2 on all-state boys hoops team

Section 4 boys basketball champions Windsor and Elmira Notre Dame have each put two players on the New York State Sports Writers all-state team for the 2025-26 season.

Selections from Class B sectional titlist Windsor are third-team pick Nico Soriano (senior, 15.5 points per game) and fifth-team selection Brayden Moran (junior, 11.8 ppg).

Elmira Notre Dame, the Class C titlist in Section 4, is represented on the all-state team by third-team pick Rocco Sayers (junior, 18 points per game) and fourth-team selection Max O’Connor (senior, 17 ppg).

They were among 19 all-state picks from Section 4 in classes B, C, and D. All-state selections in classes AAA, AA, and A will be announced later.

All-state teams are compiled by the New York State Sports Writers Association based on nominations submitted from correspondents across the state.

Candor senior Jakobe Foster (19.7 ppg) and Union Springs senior Rocco Testa (24 ppg) earned second-team honors to lead Section 4 players in Class C.

Ryan Murphy, a senior at Morris, was the section’s lone first-team selection among the three classes, earning that designation in Class D after averaging 26.4 points per game.

Class B

Player of the Year: Tucker Burnett, Marcellus, senior.

First-team picks: Anthony Ficarrotta, Dobbs Ferry, senior; Aaron Woodbery, Woodlands, senior; Nolan Brunelle, Jordan-Elbridge, senior; Ryan Leary, Carle Place, senior; Ian VanWagner, Potsdam, junior.

Section 4 selections

Third team: Nico Soriano, Windsor, senior.

Fifth team: Brayden Moran, Windsor, junior.

10th team: Jude Santos, Watkins Glen, junior.

Honorable mention: Patrick Flynn, Windsor; Tyler Reed, Walton/Downsville; Christopher Simiele, Watkins Glen.

Class C

Player of the Year: Miles Nelen, Cooperstown, senior.

First team: Shane Kirker, Berne-Knox-Westerlo, senior; Perry Planck, Cato-Meridian, sophomore; J.J. Johnson, Lyons, senior; Landon Washburn, Honeoye, junior; Aidan Neumann, Wilson, junior.

Section 4 selections

Second team: Jakobe Foster, Candor, senior; Rocco Testa, Union Springs, senior.

Third team: Rocco Sayers, Elmira Notre Dame, junior.

Fourth team: Lucas Nealis, Delhi, senior; Max O’Connor, Elmira Notre Dame, senior.

Other Section 4 selections

Third team: Braymon Clark, Edmeston, junior; Carter Swayer, Morris, senior.

Fourth team: Allen Osborne, Schenevus, senior.

Fifth team: Pat Terk, Stamford/Jefferson, senior.
