A Detroit-based recovery support system is celebrating its 10-year anniversary with a fundraising event this weekend at the new Passenger Recovery Community Center.
The music-centric organization is also marking one year since the launch of Passenger Radio WHCK, a hyper-local radio project that serves Hamtramck’s diverse population with a broad array of programming.
For a decade, Passenger has used music and the arts as a pathway to recovery, and offers free resources to locals and artists who come through the area on tour.
Saturday’s fundraising party is noon-8 p.m. with DJs, food and raffles and giveaways for items from Third Man Records, Andrew W.K., Patti Smith, Lol Tolhurst, the Sword, Gary Numan, Flogging Molly and many more.
Guests can also check out the first-floor art space, the Christopher Street Gallery, which is hosting a new art exhibition featuring Detroit artists with original works and prints available for purchase.
Passenger Recovery Community Center is located near the Fowling Warehouse in Detroit at 3901 Christopher, Suite D. Visit passengerrecovery.com for more information.
