Cooper’s Hawk, restaurant with wine club, to open in Livonia in March

Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant, noted for its wine membership club and contemporary American menu, is set to open a Livonia location on March 2.

Cooper’s Hawk is known for a wine club built on its network of members who create their own wine journeys. Members can do so through events like group travel, wine classes and seasonal gourmet dinners. There are also exclusive wines and a new wine selection every month.

Livonia will be the fifth Michigan location for the Downers Grove, Illinois-headquartered Cooper’s Hawk, with more than 60 restaurants and wine tasting rooms across the country. The new location is at 17115 N. Laurel Park Drive.

Expect the Livonia location to have a large dining room that can accommodate nearly 250 guests. The restaurant will also have an outdoor patio that will seat 48. There’s also private a dining space for up to 48 guests.

Tim McEnery, CEO of Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants, founded the chain on the belief that food and wine can forge connections more than two decades ago.

With more than 60 locations, Cooper’s Hawk features a casual restaurant, winery with a Napa-style tasting room and specialty retail market under one roof. Its winery, in Woodridge, Illinois, is touted as one of the largest in the country. The Cooper’s Hawk winery produces more than 60 wine varieties that have received more than 600 awards, according to a news release.

Along with producing and serving award-winning wines, Cooper’s Hawk offers a selection of craft cocktails and sangrias made with its wines, along with cocktails and non-alcoholic options.

Cooper’s Hawk is known for its extensive selection of wines, but the food menu is also vast.

In Livonia, Kariel Smith helms the culinary team. There will be a variety of menus including lunch, brunch, happy hour, dinner and a kid’s menu, as well as catering.

The menu will be large, with plenty to offer including appetizers, burgers and sandwiches, steaks and chops, pasta and risotto dishes, chicken, surf and turf, soups, appetizer salads and chopped salads. “Lunch-size entrees” will be available 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

The “Life Balance Menu” will offer optional portion sizes in the 300 to 700 calorie range.

Alongside each menu item is a “bin” number, indicating a wine pairing.

Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant’s other Michigan locations are Clinton Township, Kentwood, Lansing and Troy.

Hours for the Livonia locations will be 11 a.m.- 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday.
