Will Michigan State football be reviving its annual green-and-white spring game under the new coaching staff? New head coach Pat Fitzgerald provided an update on that on Wednesday.
Fitzgerald met with the media on Wednesday to discuss a number of topics, one of which being whether or not Michigan State will be bringing back the spring game after not having it the past few years. And his answer may disappoint fans.
According to Kenny Jordan of On3, Fitzgerald said Michigan State is looking to have a “fan fest” in place of the traditional “spring game” to wrap up this year’s spring practice slate. More information and details are expected to be made available soon.
The removal of spring games has become the norm across all of college football so this news shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to fans. But, at least, there should be a fan fest event for those who support the program to come out in the spring to see the new look Spartans. That wasn’t even offered this time last spring.
