Airport’s Wess Barton came out on top with 16,209 followed by Hunter Wyszynski of New Boston Huron with 13,121.
A new cast of candidates is ready for the Dec. 8-14 poll, sponsored by Sunny Skies roofing, siding, windows and gutters.
Here are the credentials for this week’s nominees in alphabetical order.
Landon Barron, SMCC wrestling: Named Most Valuable Wrestling at Monroe County Sheriff’s Invitational after beating the top three seeds to take the 150-pound title.
Blake Cosby, Dundee wrestling: Fought through an eye injury to record a pin and a technical fall in helping his team win the Monroe County Sheriff’s Invitational.
Jayce Hay, Monroe boys swimming: Hit MISCA state cuts in winning two events and also swam on two winning relays in three dual-meet wins.
Madleen Hussein, Flat Rock girls basketball: Hit a free throw with .5 remaining to provide the winning margin and finished with 15 points and 6 rebounds against Woodhaven.
Jaeli Jones, Flat Rock girls basketball: Helped the Bulldogs start out 3-0 with games of 12, 18 and 19 points.
Braelyn Runyon, SMCC girls bowling: Shot 209 for her first 200 game as part of a school-record 369 series in a win over New Boston Huron.
Maddie Salenbien, Dundee girls basketball: Scored 11, 12 and 17 points as the Vikings won their first three games of the season.
Braxton Shaffer, Ida wrestling: Recorded a trio of pins to claim the 113-pound title at the Monroe County Sheriff’s Invitational.
Brody St. John, Summerfield boys basketball: Netted 34 points against Whitmore Lake and 24 against Whiteford.
Addison Wallace, Gibraltar Carlson girls basketball: Reached double figures in all three games as the Marauders started 3-0.
