The East Peoria all-state junior announced on social media Thursday his verbal commitment to Illinois, picking the Fighting Illini over scholarship offers from Bradley, Michigan, Iowa, Butler, DePaul, Toledo, Northwestern and Illinois State. He had also made unofficial visits to Ohio State, Notre Dame and Indiana.
During his sophomore season, the 6-foot-6 guard/forward averaged 23.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists for East Peoria, which recorded the program’s first 20-win season since 1997.
