The brewery, located at 500 Cleveland Ave. NW downtown, announced on social media that its first day will be Dec. 3 — the same day as Canton’s Light Up Downtown festivities.

“YES we are aware that our first week open will occur during both Light Up Downtown and First Friday,” the brewery posted Nov. 26 on Facebook. “YES we are aware of the chaos that will ensue. But I guess to that we’re saying ‘bring it.’ We have our DORA cups, and a phenomenal space to come in from the cold for a while. We’re basically all set.”

The brewery — which is using a two-barrel brewing system — will be open from 4 to 10 p.m. Dec. 3, Dec. 4 and Dec. 5; and 1 to 10 p.m. Dec. 6.

Brewer Andrew Archer, his wife Bailey, and her brother Ethan Comfort founded Starflyer. Archer previously brewed at HiHO Brewing Co. in Cuyahoga Falls.

“We’re excited about this location,” Archer told the Canton Repository in September. “It’s close to the action downtown, with good parking and room to grow.”

The name Starflyer was inspired during lightning bug season and is meant to capture something whimsical, nostalgic and local. Andrew’s sister, Abigail Archer, designed the final logo.

The brewery previously has said it will offer snacks and charcuterie in partnership with Canton Importing and other local businesses.

Starflyer joins UnHitched Brewing Co.’s Woodshop, Muskellunge Brewing Co. and the upcoming Unfused Brew Hall as the other breweries in downtown Canton. Unfused is in the process of opening in the former Canton Brewing Co. space.
