While many stores will be closed on Thanksgiving to give their employees the holiday, some will be open.
Here is a list of stores, businesses and city departments that will be open or closed for Thanksgiving 2025.
Is Walmart open on Thanksgiving 2025?
Walmart stores will be closed on Thanksgiving, the company told USA TODAY. Walmart stores will open at 6 a.m. local time on Black Friday, however.
Is Walgreens open on Thanksgiving?
Most Walgreens locations will be closed on Thanksgiving, according to the company’s website. 24-hour locations and pharmacies will remain open; however, non-24-hour locations will be closed.
Customers are encouraged to call their nearest Walgreens location or use the store locator function on the company’s website to check for specific hours.
Whole Foods Thanksgiving hours
Yes, Whole Foods will be open. Hours will be 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Is Target open on Thanksgiving?
Target stores will be closed on Thanksgiving, according to the company’s website.

All Home Depot and Lowe’s stores will be closed on Thanksgiving this year.
Is Best Buy open on Thanksgiving?
According to the company’s website, Best Buy stores will be closed on Thanksgiving.
Is the U.S. Post Office closed on Thankgiving Day?
The U.S. Postal Service will observe the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, Nov. 27. Only Priority Mail Express will be delivered that day.
However, self-service options are available in many retail lobbies when post offices are closed.
Is trash collected on Thanksgiving?
In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, all City of El Paso administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28. Administrative offices will resume business on Monday, Dec. 1.
Garbage collection to include recycling will not be collected through the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Gray trash bins will be collected on Monday, Dec. 1.

All El Paso County offices and the Enrique Moreno County Courthouse will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov. 28.
Texas Tech Health El Paso will be closed on Thanksgiving Day
Texas Tech Health El Paso will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28, in observance of Thanksgiving. This includes all Texas Tech Physicians of El Paso clinics and the Texas Tech Dental Oral Health Clinic.
Texas Tech Health El Paso libraries closed on Wednesday, Nov. 26. They will be open on Saturday, Nov. 29, and Sunday, Nov. 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Normal hours of operation for the university, clinics and libraries will resume Monday, Dec. 1.
Doña Ana Community College campuses closed on Thanksgiving Day
Doña Ana Community College (DACC) stated all campuses and centers will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday.
There are also no classes for students this week. All campuses and centers will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov. 28.
Books Are Gems will be closed for Thanksgiving holiday
Books are Gems, at 7744 North Loop, Ste B., will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27, through Sunday, Nov. 30. It will re-open on Monday, Dec. 1. Hours will be noon to 6 p.m.
White Sands National Park will be closed on Thanksgiving Day
It sounds like a fun idea, but White Sands National Park is closed on Thanksgiving Day. The park will reopen at 7 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 2,8 with normal business hours through Dec. 24.
Paco Wongs on West Side will be closed on Thanksgiving Day
Paco Wong’s Chinese Restaurant will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27.
