A Michigan resident died he was after struck by a semitrailer while he was walking on Interstate 40 east of Vega early Monday, authorities said.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said a preliminary investigation showed that a 1999 Freightliner truck tractor towing a semi-trailer was heading west on I-40 in Oldham County about 1:30 a.m. Nov. 24, when a man was walking in the roadway.
The Freightliner hit the pedestrian, identified as Scott Lee Guy, 40, of Novi, Michigan. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The semitrailer’s driver, from El Paso, was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
