Finally, Texas A&M will face a team with a winning SEC record when they travel to Austin to take on the Texas Longhorns in the Lone Star Showdown at DKR.
Schedules are made years in advance, and you cannot control if teams fail to live up to their preseason rankings. You can only play the opponent in front of you, and if you are the superior team, the odds are in your favor that you will win. However, in the SEC, that is not always the case. One of the better examples this season was the 29-21 Texas loss to Florida earlier in the year.

On the other hand, the Aggies have been dealing with upset alerts and accusations of being overrated all season long, even though all they have done is find ways to win against whoever lined up across from them. When they did have a poor game, they consistently made second-half adjustments to come out on top and preserve their undefeated record.
Beyond all the postseason scenarios, the only thing that will truly matter is the head-to-head bragging rights and who will take home the Lone Star Showdown trophy Friday night.

Texas A&M will have a chance to make it to the SEC title game with a win, but Texas will look to play spoiler in the regular season finale.
