President Donald Trump spent some time at the presidential turkey pardoning to mention prices going down, but polls show voters aren’t giving him a stamp of approval on the economy just yet.
Shortly after sparing the turkeys’ lives, he headed down to Palm Beach for Thanksgiving, when grocery and cost-of-living prices are hard to ignore. In addition to the price of the feast, millions of Floridians on Obamacare will see their healthcare prices spike in 2026, gasoline prices are up in the state per AAA compared to last month and last year, and Florida, Power & Light will raise electricity prices for about 12 million customers as of Jan. 1.
Trump has wanted to reclaim winning on the economy, like mentioning on Nov. 25 Walmart’s Thanksgiving meal bundle being 25% less expensive than last year (though it has fewer items).

What is Donald Trump’s average approval rating?
Averages based on RealClearPolitics and New York Times aggregators show Trump’s approval rating is net negative, and after months of being relatively stable, has dropped in over the last month.
As of Jan. 27, 50.5% approved, giving Trump a net positive rating until March 13, when it flipped to net negative with 47.8% approval, compared to 48.5% disapproval, RealClearPolitics graphics show. The approval rating reached a low on April 29 at 45.1% approval, which fell around Trump’s 100-day mark. It reached a new low of 42.3% on Nov. 14, as the controversy on Jeffrey Epstein’s emails heated up following the end of the government shutdown. As of Nov. 25, 43% approve and 54.8% disapprove.
The New York Times aggregator showed Trump’s approval fell from 52% approval in January to 44% approval in April, and then mostly held steady for months. According to the Times, Trump’s term low is 41% approval, which he first reached on Nov. 12. His disapproval also notched up to 56% on Nov. 19, a high for this term per the aggregator.
What is Trump’s approval rating in Florida?
Trump has a net positive approval rating in 24 states, according to Morning Consult, which gathers polls over the course of three months to get a look at state-level data among registered voters. The Nov. 12 update has the same number of above-water states as the previous month’s update.
In Florida, 51% approve of Trump’s job performance, compared to 45% who disapprove. That is unchanged since the previous month’s update.
CBS News: 60% of Americans say Trump makes the economy sound better than it is
In a CBS News/YouGov poll conducted Nov. 19-21, Trump received a 40% approval rating. The survey included 2,489 U.S. adults with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.4 percentage points.
When asked how Trump makes things sound in regard to prices and inflation, 60% said he makes them sound better than they really are, compared to 27% who responded he makes them sound about as they are, and 13% who said worse, according to CBS. Respondents were also most likely to say the economy and inflation are the most important things when judging the Trump administration.
Morning Consult: Best policy areas are immigration, national security
A Morning Consult poll conducted Nov. 21-23 found 45% of responders approved of Trump’s job performance, compared to 52% who disapprove. The poll surveyed 2,200 registered U.S. voters with a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
On handling specific issues, Trump received the worst disapproval on health care and the economy, according to Morning Consult. The best issues for Trump, according to the poll, on national security and immigration.
