The War And Treaty, the husband-and-wife duo Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter, will headline the annual Texas Tech tradition where, with a flip of the switch, more than 30,000 lights will illuminate the campus and usher in the holiday season.

The War And Treaty has emerged as one of the most electrifying new acts in American music. They were nominated for the Best New Artist and Best American Roots Song at the 2024 Grammy Awards. They also have been nominated for Duo of the Year at the Country Music Association (CMA) Awards two years in a row and Vocal Duo of the Year at the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards.

In addition, Carol of Lights will feature the Texas Tech Combined Choirs and Trombone Choir. A fireworks display will light up the night sky as the holiday season officially begins for the Tech campus.

Carol of Lights is attended by thousands of students, alumni and members of the Lubbock community each year and is one of Texas Tech’s largest and oldest traditions. The event is free and open to the public.

Public and ADA-compliant parking will be available. A printable parking map has been created to assist with on-campus parking. For safety and security, Texas Tech’s clear bag policy will be in place. Strollers, wagons and lawn chairs are permitted but are subject to search.
