“The Detroit Police department did an excellent job investigation (sic) and apprehending the defendant.  This case illustrates why we must remain vigilant when it comes to our children,” said Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy in a Wednesday, Nov. 5 news release.

According to the release, at roughly 8:15 p.m. Oct. 30, Brown and the 5-year-old girl were at a McDonald’s restaurant on the 6800 block of Michigan Avenue in Detroit. Brown is accused of following the girl into the bathroom, where he sexually assaulted her and then fled the scene.

Detroit police arrested him Tuesday, Nov. 4, according to the release.

Court records show he is expected to be arraigned Wednesday. There is no lawyer listed yet in court records for Brown.
