COVID-19 boosters are now available at some Brevard pharmacies.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved updated boosters Aug 27. However, as of earlier this week, there were only a few places in Brevard County where the vaccine was available.
As of Sept. 24, the COVID-19 vaccine was available at most major pharmacies.
The change comes following a Sept. 23 meeting by the Florida Board of Pharmacy that advised under existing statutes and rules, pharmacists, interns and technicians in Florida may administer FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccines to eligible individuals 18 years and older under protocol.
