Pick the LSJ boys high school athlete of week: Sept. 8-13

Here is a look at the latest individuals in the running to be voted the LSJ boys high school athlete of the week winner.

Voting is open until noon Wednesday to determine a winner, who will be featured in the LSJ.

Ian Morgan, Okemos cross country

The senior finished fourth in the elite race at the Spartan Invitational on Friday, Sept. 12. Morgan had a season-best time of 15:46.1 while being the top finisher from Greater Lansing.

Kaleb Nielson, Williamston football

The senior quarterback was 8-of-12 passing for 159 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 61 yards and a TD while leading the Hornets on offense in their 28-0 victory over Mason to open CAAC Red play. His efforts helped Williamston improve to 3-0 and match its 2024 win total.

Braden Reed, Owosso football

The junior helped the Trojans beat Lake Fenton for the first time since joining the Flint Metro League and push their record to 3-0. He hit what proved to be the game-winning field goal late in the fourth quarter, had an interception on defense and added five catches for 129 yards and a touchdown in a 38-35 win.
