Breaking down GlenOak football in 2025

A tough 2024 season could pay off this season for GlenOak, which played a lot of young players last fall. The Golden Eagles return 28 lettermen, the highest total Scott Garcia can remember in his 17 seasons as a head coach at the school. Expect a more fast-paced GlenOak offensive attack focused on taking advantage of the team’s athleticism. A big plus for those athletes on offense: GlenOak returns its entire starting offensive line — guards Jeremiah Babics and Carter Hall; tackles DeAngelo Baskerville and Mason Wallace; and centers Anthony Kaplanis and Chris McDaniels.

Some seniors to watch for GlenOak include LB-FB Matt Rekstis (73 tackles in 2024), TB-OLB Javi’Ion McClendon (706 yards from scrimmage, 6 TDs), WR-S RJ Hairston, WR-P Sean Leahy (team-high 18 catches), LB Landon Gilmore and LB Dom Wagner.

Breaking down Dover football in 2025

Matt Rees takes over for the retired Dan Ifft as the head coach at Dover. Ifft coached the Crimson Tornadoes for 30 seasons. Rees both played and coached for Ifft, a Hall of Fame coach. Rees was the defensive coordinator at Dover. He also played his college football for a Hall of Fame coach, Larry Kehres of Mount Union.

Dover features All-Ohio senior quarterback Jack Judkins (5-foot-9, 185 pounds). He enters his third year as the starting QB having thrown for 2,600 yards and 23 touchdowns in 2024 while rushing for 541 yards and seven TDs. Senior RB-WR Justice Hughes (6-0, 200) and senior WR Robbie Copple (5-10, 167) are other top playmakers.
