Wild Summer Lights has arrived at Evansville's Mesker Park Zoo. Here's what to know

EVANSVILLE — A new experience has arrived at Mesker Park Zoo and Botanic Garden, and it will only be around for a limited time.

Wild Summer Lights is a Chinese lantern festival taking place in the evenings at the zoo. There will be over a mile of lights.

How long will Wild Summer Lights be at the Mesker Park Zoo?

The event will close Oct. 5.

What days of the week will the event be open?

The event will take place Thursday-Sunday evenings.

What times will it be open?

Hours will be 5 to 9 p.m.

How much do tickets cost?

Tickets will be $18 for non-member adults and $16 for non-member kids. Members will save $3 on each ticket.

How can I buy tickets?

Tickets will only be available for purchase online at meskerparkzoo.com.

When do tickets go on sale?

Tickets go on sale July 14.

Who created the lanterns for Wild Summer Nights?

The lanterns were designed by Tianyu Arts & Culture, Inc. According to the company’s website, they have worked with zoos and other conservation-focused organizations on events for the past 10 years.

They have created lanterns for the Los Angeles Zoo, the National Museum of Natural History in France and the Houston Botanic Garden.
