MASSILLON – The Bob Evans restaurant downtown has closed.
The eatery at 275 Lincoln Way W, which is adjacent to Lillian Gish Boulevard SW, is permanently closed, according to a voice message on the restaurant’s Massillon phone number.

The message encourages customers to visit other Bob Evans’ nearby restaurants in Stark County, including the Canton eatery on Tuscarawas Street W, as well as the Jackson Township location on Dressler Road NW.
The reason for the restaurant’s closure was not immediately available.
A phone message left by The Independent with the restaurant’s main office in New Albany was not immediately returned on the morning of Aug. 13.
Ted Herncane, Massillon’s development director, acknowledged the restaurant’s closure and declined to comment due to a lack of information regarding the decision.
Bob Evans is a family-style restaurant chain that was founded in 1948 in Gallipolis. The company is headquartered in New Albany and operates more than 435 locations across 18 states, with about two dozen restaurants in Ohio.
