Port Huron, MI – Lake Huron Medical Center (LHMC) is pleased to announce its July 2025 Employee of the Month, Sheryl Bower. LHMC is honored to have a strong team of staff and volunteers working hard to deliver high-quality care to the Blue Water Area and beyond.
Sheryl works as a Staff Registered Nurse in our GI Lab and has been a valued employee at LHMC for 18 years. Sheryl was nominated by a fellow employee who stated “Today Sheryl was getting a patient ready for surgery when there was a very surprising abnormal lab that came back pre-op. The patient was shocked and crying and her surgery was canceled. Sheryl was extremely empathetic and calming. The Dr said she needed to follow up with another physician for further testing. The patient desperately wanted to get more testing done ASAP, so Sheryl called the physician’s office, explained the situation, received the order, and even scheduled the test for her – for that same day! The patient was very grateful. Sheryl repeatedly goes above and beyond. She sets a good example for all nurses to follow.
