Teen jogger reports stranger danger incident in Plymouth Township

PLYMOUTH TWP. — Police are investigating a report of a suspicious encounter involving a teenage girl and an unknown man driving a white pickup truck near Joy and McClumpha roads.

Police said officers from the Plymouth Township Police Department responded to the area at approximately 12:03 p.m. July 14 after receiving a call from the teen’s father.

The man reportedly said his daughter had been running in the neighborhood when an older white male in a white pickup truck honked his horn as he passed her.

According to police, the man then turned his vehicle around and approached the girl a second time and told her she was “so beautiful that he had to look at her again.” The girl ran into a nearby neighborhood, where a resident helped her call her father.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 60s with slicked back black hair. The vehicle is believed to be a white pickup truck, but no make or model was provided.

Plymouth Township police are actively investigating the incident and are asking anyone with information to contact School Resource Officer Andrew Mendrzycki at (734) 354-3243.
